This delectable treat pictured here is mom's new 'cracker bread' recipe. I've nicknamed it that because it suffices as both a crispier cracker (that suits my tastes) or a softer bread (that suits the rest of my family's tastes). Either way, this adapted recipe mom brought over is perfect for us.
The greatest thing about this recipe besides final flavor is that it is quick and easy! I prefer that to tedious and difficult for sure, so this one is a winner all around! You can adapt the recipe as you like too - the choices are yours!
Garlic Dill Cracker Bread
1/3 c. olive oil
3 c spelt flour
1/2 ground flax
1 tsp garlic powder
2 cloves minced garlic
1 tsp fresh dill, minced
3/4 c. room temperature water
1 beaten egg
1 tsp sea salt
Mix dry ingredients together.
Mix wet ingredients together.
Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients.
Roll out onto parchment paper in a large pizza pan (square is best but use what you have).
Poke holes all over the top with a fork.
Bake for 15 minutes at 350.
NOTE: We 'score' our Cracker Bread with a pizza cutter before we bake it.
It falls apart in beautiful squares.
You can add whatever you like to this recipe - modify it to your own tastes.
We use this bread with avocado dip, hummus, accompaniments to soups - we've used it as bruschetta base and we even gently toast them in the oven to use as croutons.

Pollytox
Do you require that extra zap of energy? Are you currently detoxing and looking for things to add to the routine? Want a delicious way to get well?
OK....you asked for it.
Most folks have never heard of 'Pollytox'. I found this recipe tucked in the back of the 'Omega 3 Cookbook' by Michael Van Straten. The first time I tried it, I was in love!
Pollytox is a detoxification drink that has been served on the menu of a London cafe called 'Polly's Tea Room' for years (photo).
The drink is iced and green. Sounds very St. Patty's but wellness explorers everywhere will sing the praises of a green drink any minute of the day of the week.
There are no fatty acids in this concoction. What it is full of is Vitamin C, fiber and flavors that explode into particles of energy - it makes my day!
Here's the recipe:
Ingredients:
500 grams of white grapes
2 green apples
The juice of 2 lemons (not phony in the store bottled lemon juice)
Put the apples and the grapes through your juicer.
Stir together and add the lemon juice.
Stir again and pour into glasses filled with ice.
Sit back, put your feet up and relax as you sip this......
....it won't be long until you have so much energy that sitting is no longer for you. ;)
