Wellness & Calories - What!?!

There are some folks who live by the law of the calorie. This is all good and fine - these units of energy that convert to heat to fuel us have always confused the heck out of me until I realized something.....

It doesn't really get simpler than that.

Eat whole, nutritious (and actual) foods.....or drink them......your choice.

Rock your day!

Delicious Juice Recipes for Wellness

When I first started my wellness journey, I had no idea what I was going to experience. What did happen was like opening the door to a magical land you never dreamed existed. The things that I learned were truths and the lies we uncovered when it came to our food supply alone was overwhelming.

The second, initially overwhelming idea was juicing. Someone advocated this practice? Once I started learning more about it, utilizing the tips and tricks and seeing near-immediate results – no one can tell me they know juicing is unhealthy. This isn’t due to my bull-headedness, it is from years of experience and practical application. Did I sound like a scientist there? I felt like one sometimes – still do!

So, juicing. It can be so simple! Instead of overwhelming others, I want to offer delicious juice recipes that can get even the most terrified human interested in at least learning more. I was that terrific human – and someone showed me too.

So, delicious recipes anyone? Found in the amazing book, ‘Juicing for Life’ by Cherie Calbom, M.S and Maureen Keane, M.S., C.N.

I even found juice recipes for:

High Calcium Drink:
3 kale leaves
Small handful parsley
4-5 carrots, greens removed

Cellulite:
½ cantaloupe (with skin)
5-6 strawberries

Gout:
4 handfuls cherries
½ cup strawberries
Hair Growth Cocktail:
2 dark green lettuce leaves
Handful alfalfa sprouts
4-5 carrots, greens removed

Heartburn Quencher:
¼ head cabbage
1 stalk celery
2 carrots, greens removed
Inflammation:
3 pineapple rings with skins
¼ inch slice of ginger root
½ pear
Sparkling water
Pineapple spear for garnish (because it’s fun!)

Migraine Headaches:
1 garlic clove
Small handful parsley
4-5 carrots, greens removed
2 stalks of celery
Parsley sprigs for garnish

Another incredible juice recipe for migraine headache sufferers is:
Ginger Fizz (for Migraine Headaches):

1 apple, seeded
Sparkling water
All recipes above are juiced – it is so easy to do and the ultimate in wellness!
